What to do, what to do

Miss K had a culinary request for me, thank goodness so far all of such from my kiddo's have been fairly simple, the hardest part is usually trying to figure out what they mean. Here's her request-

Miss K- can you make those eggs that you cook in water?
Me- poached? like we eat on toast?
Miss K- No, they have the shell on them.
Me- OH hard boiled?
Miss K- yeah! I like those, can you make them so I can have them for Breakfast?
Me- sure

So as I got the eggs cooking, all four monst.... errr Kiddo's came running through the kitchen, they stopped to see what I was up to. They like to keep an eye on me, they think I get up to trouble or something. I explained what I was doing and of course they all had some input on what to do with boiled eggs so I thought I would share their ideas with you.....

K says- I can pretend they are regular eggs and tease you that I am going to smash them on my head :) He likes to tease me.

B says- Um.....eggs??? Gross...... hee hee.... Feed them to R! (the Dog)

Miss K says- Eat them for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner!!!

M says- Feed them to Daddy, cause he is ALWAYS hungry :)

Now me when I think about hard boiled eggs I always think Egg Salad Sandwiches, yum.
How about you? What do you do with hard boiled eggs???

I love hard boiled eggs! We eat them with a little salt. I also love to make deviled eggs with them. I haven't made them in a long time, maybe I should make some!!

hard boiled eggs make me think of Easter, because every year I make pink/purple/red/whatever crazy colors turn up deviled eggs with the eggs we dye. Mmmmm, I don't make them any other time of the year, so I really look forward to them! They are great as part of a bbq spread! : )

I posted about this some time ago, but I was making deviled eggs for book club, and I ruined three batched of eggs. I finally bought pre-boiled eggs. It was ridiculous.

I'm not an egg person. However, hard-boiled eggs do remind me of Easter. We dye them in many colors (like thames said - I didn't know why had this tradition in common!) and then make "contests" with them. Families form pairs, and each pair smash their eggs onto one another, first at the top, then at the bottom. Whoever has the egg that DOESN'T break is the winner! The bad part (for me) is that you have to eat the egg afterwards... :( So basically, for me, Easter is time for negotiations - hehe ("Would you like my egg? No, I don't mind" or "Mom, could I PLEASE not eat my egg?" - when I was younger, etc)
