Chilled Cantalope Soup

The kiddos and I enjoyed the Rhubarb soup so much I thought we would try another chilled fruit soup.

Chilled Cantaloupe Soup
Ingred;

1 med cantaloupe, cubed
2c. orange juice
1T. lime juice

Blend cantaloupe and 1/2c. orange juice in a blender or food processor until pureed, Stir in remaining orange juice and lime juice. Chill for at least 2 hours.

This soup was very pretty, but the taste was kind of odd. Except for my little 1 year old niece who couldn't get enough, we all couldn't decide if we liked it or disliked it. It seemed like it needed something more, like mango or some kind of spice.
I don't think I will be trying this one again though.

I'm allergic to orange juice, so I wouldn't be able to try it anyway, but I wonder how it would be blended up with some ice and plain or vanilla yogurt as a smoothie?

it sounds like it might be refreshing on a hot day; but then again, I'm not sure myself; I like Willoughby's suggestion though if it was made into a smoothie; I bet that would be delicious!

I like the smoothie idea. What spice would go with cantaloupe? Hmmmm.... guess I'd have to check allrecipes for that one!

You are more adventurous than me...I enjoy that so much about what you cook and your final verdict on the finished dish too.

I would put in a small tub of cool whip to bind it and give it a little boost. Winco has a special on cantalopes...3 for $1.00. LOL

I was thinking the other day how I don't think I would like chilled soup. Then I thought to myself if it were poured into a glass wouldn't it be like drinking a smoothie? And I love me some smoothies, so I guess I like chilled soups too :-)

Thank you!!!
